Dylon Natural Denim Instructions
Dylon Natural Denim renews the
colour of blue denim whilst retaining most of the denim effect.
Natural Denim cannot create a denim effect but will dye the
existing effect to a darker shade.
Natural Denim is a
colourfast dye specially designed for use in front loading,
automatic washing machines. It should not be used in twin tubs,
top-loaders with central disc agitators, or launderette
machines. Dyeing does not damage your machine, or affect
subsequent washes if you follow the instructions carefully.
Fabric
Natural Denim is a
machine dye that is designed for use on blue cotton denim
fabrics or blue denim containing a small amount of LycraŽ.
Colour
The final colour
will depend on:
- The original shade of the
denim.
- The size of the item.
One pack of
Natural Denim is sufficient to renew the colour of one pair of
washable adult's blue jeans, one adult's blue denim jacket, or
two children's items.
If treating more than one adult sized item, it is advisable to
use one pack per item. Do not dye more than three adult's or six
children's size items at a time.
Instructions
Wear rubber
gloves.
- There is no need to wash the
item prior to using Natural Denim, but ensure that it is free
from stains.
- Empty contents of the pack
into the dry drum of the washing machine (not the soap
dispenser). No salt is required.
- Add unfolded dry denim to
the machine.
- Immediately select and run a
60°C colourfast cotton/coloureds cycle without pre-wash, (do
not use an economy or half load programme).
- When the complete cycle has
finished, leave the item in the machine, add your usual
detergent and run a complete programme at the hottest
temperature recommended for the item. If this is less than
85°C, remove the item when cycle is complete, add detergent
and run an empty, longest and hottest programme to ensure all
the dye is removed from the machine.
- Dry away from direct heat
and sunlight. Wash with other dark colours for first few
washes until any remaining excess dye has been removed.
Helpful
Hints:
- Do not add salt.
- Always use a full pack.
- Stains, faded areas and
bleach marks may not be covered with dye.
- Do not use an economy or
half load programme.
- Materials with special
finishes e.g. water-proofing, 'dry clean only' etc. cannot be
dyed because the finish prevents absorption of the dye.
Note:
Some articles may contain polyester stitching which will not
dye.
Should any dye be left in the washing machine after the dyeing
process, add a cup of household bleach to the drum and run the
longest and hottest programme, with the machine empty. |
