DyoFix Black Algae Inhibitor: Application Methods

Each pack of DyoFix Black is sufficient to treat 1000 Litres (225 gallons) of water and one dose will last for a minimum of two months of constant sunshine. With each pack of DyoFix comes with a suggested method of application, a product health and safety data sheet, a pond volume calculator and a pair of protective gloves.

Suggested methods of application:

Method 1 for ponds with 1000 Litres (225 Gallons) of water

  1. Half fill a bucket or watering can from the pond
  2. Wearing gloves, remove the tamper evident seal from the pack of DyoFix Black
  3. Carefully remove the lid
  4. Pour the contents of the pack into the bucket or watering can
  5. Using a stick, stir the water until the DyoFix Black has dissolved
  6. If the water feature has a waterfall, pour the contents at the head, if not, pour the contents into different parts of the pond to achieve an even distribution
  7. Put some clean water into the bucket or watering can to rinse it out and then pour it into the pond

Method 2 for smaller ponds

  1. Rinse out a 2 litre, soft drinks bottle, remove the label and leave to dry
  2. Wearing gloves, remove the tamper evident seal from the pack of DyoFix
  3. Carefully remove the lid
  4. Make a paper funnel and insert into the neck of the bottle
  5. Pour the DyoFix Black into the bottle
  6. Gently half fill the bottle with warm water (this helps the DyoFix Black to dissolve)
  7. Put the lid onto the bottle and shake it vigorously
  8. Pour a little of the mixture into the pond
  9. Gently stir the pond until the DyoFix is evenly distributed
  10. Repeat steps 9 and 10 until the water looks Black
  11. Store the unused mixture in a cool, dark, safe place. It is advisable to write on the bottle "DyoFix Pond Dye - DO NOT DRINK" and make sure that it kept out of the reach of young children
